This line is from a DNA cousin that shares a 22cM segment with my uncle. Can’t see a common ancestor, but it stuck out to me because it has Skinner and Smith ancestors in familiar locations. Skinner was one of three middle names our Smith gg-grandfather had. We always assumed it was an ancestors surname.
This cousins line also stood out because I was looking for links to 1600s Monmouth NJ after reading suthainn’s posts in the regalia thread. It also has ancestors that moved from NC to Indiana like my family and then moved on to MO. Mskimmy is a cousin on a Jones line that went to MO. I suspect we may be cousins to cherosage on a MO line as well.
These are the lines of Edna Gertrude Williams 1906-1952 Jasper MO:
She has Smith ancestors showing up in Kentucky the same time as ours in Indiana. Her Skinners marry into lines in Orange NC, and TN the same time our ancestors are there. Her Smiths marry into Richardson. Other names we have in common are Snyder, Feg, Bailey and Hammer/Hamner.
Some of these ancestors move from NC to MO the same time as ours went NC to OH/IN – Rains, Oliver, Peoples, Sharp, Raiford. There are Pittman ancestors in 1600s Monmouth.

One DNA cousin that stands out, has the marriage of Batsheba Skinner b 1770 Edgecombe NC – 1840 Calloway KY to Wiley Holland 1772-1837. Other names that marry in: Barbee, Brown, Cotton, Harris, Harrell, Hitchcock, Lee, Lucas, Mangum, Miller, Jones, Smith, Tucker, Winn, Yancey
This is Bathseba Skinner’s granddaughter Leona Lasterphene Holland of TN through her son Richard Holland. On her maternal side she is the daughter of Obedience “Beedy” Robertson, daughter of Jesse Wilie Robertson and Winifred ‘Winnie’ Thorne of NC. -
