I have so much new info and more (?)s I just don’t know where to start and how to go about it.
I have info that Groves Howard helped to spur the freeing of the Slaves in Saponitown or area. Any help on this? Groves married Hannah Allen the daughter of William and Frances “Grant” Allen. They married in Granville Co. NC. Groves is the son of William and Elizabeth “Hillsman” Howard. This William’s parents were William and Mary “Groves” Howard.
The Putney Family lived in the Richmond area. Not exactly sure of much more. Robert Putney joined the Union 13 West Virginia Infantry, Co K.
Isaac Brown son David Erasmus Brown went to Ohio about 1850’s. He went to Guernsey Co. Ohio around the Madison TWP and married Mary Hixson April 18, 1850. They left this area to come to MO. David E. Brown was born May 5, 1828 in Loudoun Co. VA Buried in the Ross-Mayes Cemetery in Mayes Co. OK. He participated in the war with the 1st Cherokees, then a MO Militia. David Brown was a signer to the Cherokee Constitution of 1895.
Thanks, Seems to be most of the family. I find it a little confusing to follow some of it. The chart starts out well then it gets jumbled up only to come together for my Groves Howard at the bottom.
How is this family related to the rest of the Saponi folks? Is this family Saponi or perhaps someother tribe. Next, what Tribe has this family dealt with later on?

If you do a search for Groves Howard through the search function here on the forum, there are other posts. Hannah Allen would be the niece of my Joseph who married Sarah Hunt. Gets pretty intertwined and confusing! Welcome to the forum cousin! Saj
When researching my family the Bentley’s I came across a web site that gave alot of information on Howard, Wells, Davis, Bentley, Hyder and more they do have alot of information on the Howard’s family.
