Surname Plunkett, and Clayton

Hi

Does anyone know if Plunkett, or Clayton are of Native American ancestry? My mom has Native American Ancestry on both her parents side. She has said to me recently that those are some of the surnames we are related to. They would be from North Carolina or surrounding areas.:)
