Greetings my Saponitown family;
I haven’t been around much lately. It is not because I have lost interest but I am in this “yuckie stage” of kidney failure when I have no energy, no appitite, and have a hard time consintrating.
I am schueled for surgery on March 30th to have an pd catherter put in for dialysis. In the meantime I have appointments for test most every day next week.
I have elected to do “peretonal dialysis” at home. This is a method where dialysize fluid is placed in the peritonal sack just under the skin of your stomach, then removed. After a few weeks of doing this manually then I will be placed on a cylinder machine and will dialysis during my night’s sleep. This method requires no needles or blood exchange. It is suppose to be easier on the body without the highs and lowes in blood pressure and the diet isn’t as restrictive.
I would like to thank each and everyone of you that have kept me in their thoughts and prayers. You are all a wonderful group and with all of you pulling for me I will come though this just fine.
Bill, I haven’t given up hope of finding my Meredith’s parentage…..

I never give up on Meredith’s parents, nor the Cook girl’s either.

March 16, 2005 at 9:35 pm #14226Brenda,
Bless you. You are always in my prayers and thoughts and you will win out, because you’re a fighter. You inherited that! With all my heart I continue to pray. Love & light, Lynella.
March 16, 2005 at 9:35 pm #14233I hope the dialysis makes you much more comfortable. It sounds like a much better procedure than the trips to the dialysis center.
I’ll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
March 16, 2005 at 9:35 pm #14397Went in for surgery Wednesday morning and everything went great. I had a lot of thoughts and prayers headed my way and I want to thank you all for being with me. The cathiter was incerted into my front right tummy and this is what I had wanted. This kind of dialysis requires no needles or blood exchange.
I am a little sore…that is to be expected. I have a home health care nurse that is comming in twice a week for a few weeks just to make sure no infections get started and I am doing everythiing the doctors have ordered.
Take care and God bless you all.
Brenda

March 16, 2005 at 9:35 pm #14453This is Tina, Brenda’s daughter.
Brenda asked me to post and let everyone know that she is in the hospital again. They did x-rays and an MRI today and the results show that she has an infection in the spine. They will be doing a bone scan tomorrow to make sure that there is nothing anywhere else. They said that this is something that can be treated on an out patient basis, but they need to get her pain under control before they can release her.
I will post more updates to let everyone know how she is doing.
Love
Tina
