This one of my my direct blood lines.
Also one of the families that I have not been able to fully find info on……
all I know is that the 1943 Catawba roll include 3 people with the name Petty. This is the area my line comes from. But now the Petty family was in every single area the Saponi and Catawba was at in NC and VA.
So anyway I guess I’ll add info….not really organized but oh well….I’ll add photos and stuff also.

my notes on this Stephen. I believe that he is a son of Moses Petty (1785SC- ?before 1850).
Source: 1830 DeKalb County, Georgia census list Stephen Petty 20 to 30 years old, wife is 20 to 30 years old, female 15 to 20 years old, son 5 to 10 years old, daughter to 5 years old, and son to 5 years old.
Source: 1860 Cobb County, Georgia census record, page 457b, family #1718 shows Stephen Petty age 56, born in SC. His wife listed by initial only, H., (This is his second wife, Harriett Sims) age 42, and born in Georgia. Two females listed with them, presumed to be daughters, listed by the initials F.C. age 10, and H.E.(This is Harriett) age 9.::

and, from cousins John’s research, possibly one more census which raises questions about wife…..the daughter Hariett, age 20 by 1870, does seem to tie this census back to same Stephen.

Ok now I’ll get closer in time…Stephen Petty is one of my great uncles ( or thats what I gather)
But now the James petty listed is 100 percent one of my great uncles.
Either way the two just mentioned are from the same blood line.

Stephen, James, and william petty I can not for a fact find the father of…
William petty is my direct blood line and he is the brother of James ( this is known)…and they are either brothers of Stephen or their fathers are brothers.
James petty is my great great uncle.
Now them are all part of the paulding county ga families……up until about 1980 about 50 percent of the people that lived in paulding county looked just about the same as the ones pictured about……now my grandma says that in her time (she was born and rasied in paulding county) paulding county was about 80 percent native american looking and everyone had came from the NC and SC area. Everyone in that county during the 1980’s seemed to know each other (or well the native American looking ones).
