This pow wow was created to honor the mix ancestry of Native Americans today and to welcome marginalized Natives of all shades that have been invisible in this nation for far too long, to finally take part in the celebration of our ancestors. This pow-wow is a fundraiser to complete the building of Mountain Eagle Place, a spiritual and healing retreat center dedicated to the preservation of Native American Culture. I made it there,but my directions (Google) were slightly off;should have used the Yahoo ones.
It was a small powwow. There were fewer than 50 people there.
Had a good time there! Met Dreaminghawk and Mousini.
The only criticism I have is that grand entry was late. It was scheduled for 12PM but didn’t go off until around 1:40 or so.
I’ll put this on my schedule for next year.

The reason the grand entry was delayed was because they were waiting for some of the tribal elders to arrive. Apparently there were others that also had trouble finding the road…our mapquest did good. It was good to meet you, wish we could have spent more time together, but, the family emergency kinda overwhelmed me. Yes, this was a good place with good people, will put it on my calendar for next year. But, would hope they could coordinate with other pow wows and put it on a weekend where it doesn’t conflict.
