Ran across this in the Virginia Gazette
Virginia Gazette, Rind, July 26, 1770, page 2
Committed to the prison of York, a Negro boy, who says his name is William Floronce, about 17 years of age, pretends that he is free, and was born in the Indian town on Pamunkey river, he is 5 feet 3 inches high, has a smiling countenance, and is remarkably pert when spoke to. If such a lad hath absconded from service, the owner may get him on paying charges to W. Mitchell.
