Native American genealogy research from the Piedmont of NC & VA
There was a missionary walking through the wilderness one day. Over hill and dale he strolled until he startled a sleeping bear, the bear awoke with a roar and started to chase the missionary.
After quite a chase the Missionary pleaded with God to save his life he asked “let this be a Christian bear”!
After thinking and believing that he had been reassured he slowed his pace and then fell with exhaustion, the bear was now on him, still feeling safe the missionary lay there; the bear now at his side placed his paws on the missionary and said “thank you Lord for the feast before me!”
