My Bennett Smith is out of Hanover county Virginia in the 1800’s, with connections to Spotsylvania county. I don’t know if he has any connections to NC.

Heres what I know about him.
Bennet Lewis Smith, born about 1843, I find him in Hanover county VA in 1870and 1880. He was a railroad man, who later become crippled and took up shoemaking. He lived with his step mother, Oteria Agnes Butler, born about 1841, and bore her at least one child, probably more.
