Welcome to the Forum, Greg,
The ‘modern’ take on ‘Bands’ and ‘Tribes’ is misplaced.
Some of the Eastern Siouan Tutelo removed from the New York Colony, now U.S.A., to Brandford, Ontario, Canada, in the 1780s, adopted by the Cauga of the Six Nations. From there, it’s not a ‘stretch’ to assume that some individual families or groups of families, or an individual, moved to Quebec later.
Prior to New York Colony, this specific group was in the border area of North Carolina and Virgina.
Most records prior to the 1780s in (now) the U.S., have not survived, but if you would post specific family info here (but – no guarrantee of success), We’ll do what we can, to find whatever documentation exists –
and who knows, you may be related 🙂
Bill
