I have always wondered about Charles Griffin listed with the Saponi’s. I like you Tom, have the name Griffin, but as a first name in my Collins’s line. As a descendent of Griffin Collins, I have wondered if that name wasn’t chosen because of Charles Griffin………… it has been suggested that the Griffin Collins’s line might have come from the Collins that was listed as one of the Saponi’s along with Charles in the court records. Some researchers have linked Griffin as related to old Thomas Collins and it has been speculated that John is really the first name which has been dropped over generations, middle names being used mostly.
Just something I have wondered about!
