Find me in a lie then hahahaha
You can’t do it.
Everything I speak is the truth and is backed up.
Unlike you who change their story on every place you post at…..you can’t even stick to the same story.
My days are just beginning 🙂
Now…I remember you mentioned Jack Goins site about Valentine…..and you mentioned me about my geneology.
http://jgoins.com/valentine_collins_timeline.htm
Notice the name Lewis Collins who was often around Vardy and Valentine.
http://www.angelfire.com/wv2/dillon1944/old_thomas_collins_of_flatt_river.htm
Since you like to always mention Jack Goins.
Lewis Collins above was the son of John Collins Sr.
Applied for a Rev. War Pension in Hawkins County, Tennessee.
“First entered the service in 1778 while living on the Broad River in South Carolina. Moved back to the new River in Montgomery County, Virginia
etc etc…check the site for the full story.
December 8, 2008 at 12:42 pm #32913The Broad River originates in the Blue Ridge Mountains of eastern Buncombe County, North Carolina[3] and flows generally south-southeastwardly, through or along the boundaries of Rutherford, Polk and Cleveland Counties in North Carolina[4]; and Cherokee, York, Union, Chester, Fairfield, Newberry and Richland Counties in South Carolina.
Now Stuff from Drury Dobbin’s family bible:
William1 Dobbins was born 17 Feb 1739/40 in Granville NC, and died 23 Sept 1814 in Rutherford Co NC (S:Texas Daughters Revolutionary Ancestors). He married Susannah Collins before 1762 in Granville Co NC, daughter of William Collins. She was born 27 Feb 1737/38 in Granville Co NC, and died 1 May 1832 in Rutherford Co NC.
Now drury could have been wrong as to the exact place of birth of Susanna Collins.
But here is Susanna’s kids information:
Children of William Dobbins and Susannah Collins are:
+2 James B.2 Dobbins, born 1762 in Granville Co NC; died 28 Mar 1843 in Cleveland Co NC.
+3 William2 Dobbins, born 1765 in Granville Co NC.
+4 Mary (Mollie)2 Dobbins, born 1767 in York SC; died 14 Oct 1854 in Spartanburg SC.
+5 Frances “Fannie” 2 Dobbins, born 1773 in York SC; died 1863 in Rutherford Co NC.
+6 Ezekiel2 Dobbins, born 1775 in Rutherford Co NC; died 3 Nov 1857 in Spartanburg SC.
+7 Drury2 Dobbins, Rev., born 7 Apr 1776 in York Co SC; died 19 May 1847 in Rutherford Co NC.
8 Elizabeth2 Dobbins married John Hicks. (S:James O. Womack – Forest City, NC).
+9 Jonathan2 Dobbins, born about 1780; died after 1870.
William Dobbins SR was buried in the Dobbins-Harrill Cemetery, Rutherford Co NC (S:Graves of Revolutionary War Patriots, Vol I (1987), by Patricia Law Hatcher)

The mattamuskeet documents of Hyde county, NC:
Little has survived in the records concerning the Mattamuskeets from 1761 to 1792. Rev. Alexander Stewart visited the Mattamuskeets in 1761 and 1763, and left brief accounts of his visits. Stewart reported after his 1761 visit that the Mattamuskeets were residing with a few Roanoke and Hatteras Indians who had moved to their area. He notes the baptismal of two men, three women, and two children during that visit. Stewart established a school at Mattamuskeet when he returned in 1763. He baptized six adults and fifteen children at that time. Stewart remarked that the Indians at Mattamuskeet had mixed with whites, but did not indicate whether this mixture was residential or racial (Johnson 1972, 213).
The Mattamuskeets were, as indicated previously, joined by Indians from Roanoke and Hatteras Island by 1761. The names of these individuals were not identified on any of the extant deeds. This could mean the Indians from those areas moved to the Mattamuskeet area at a period later than that covered by the available records. Individuals with Mattamuskeet surnames do not occur in the Hyde County Records from 1761 to 1792. In fact, there is reference to only a single Indian during that time. This reference appeared in the Hyde County Court Minutes of 1765. It called for William Gibbs to show cause why an Indian woman named Cati Collins should not be set free. It is not clear from the reference whether William Gibbs was holding Cati Collins as an apprentice or a slave. The outcome of the show cause order could not be determined due to a break in the County Court Minutes from 1765 to 1767 (see appendix 35). Cati Collins may have been a member of one of the groups that moved to the area from Roanoke and Hatteras Islands.
This document is particularly significant since the Collins family’s later history closely paralleled that of the individuals with Mattamuskeet surnames. Also, the Collins descendants now residing in Hyde County are thought to be of at least partially Indian descent.
December 8, 2008 at 12:42 pm #32920Benjamin and Mary Jane Mackey had two sons and three daughters aged one to seven years by 1860 (Federal Census, 1″0’60), but the 1870 census listed only two daughters remaining in the household (Federal Census, 1870). Napoleon Mackey’s grandmother was Clarissa Mackey and his grandfather was Washington Hearse. Nothing could be determined from the Hyde County Records concerning Washington Hearse. Napoleon Mackey’s parents were Benjamin J. Mackey and Laura Lu Mackey. Laura Lu Mackey was the daughter of Henry Barber and Hettie Mackey (Hyde County Marriage Records). Napoleon Mackey married Geneva Burrus in 1921. His wife apparently has no claim to Indian ancestry. Napoleon Mackey, when interviewed in 1975, asserted his knowledge of his Indian ancestry, and named several other Hyde County families which he believed could also claim at least partial Indian descent. Prominant among those were the Collins, Barber, Chance, Clayton and Bryant families (Napoleon Mackey 1975).
Settlement pressure by whites was the greatest problem that the Indians at Mattamuskeet faced after the Tuscarora War. King Squires and King Mackey of Mattamuskeet requested that their lands be surveyed and conveyed as a formal grant to the group in 1724. The Colonial Council concurred with this request, and ordered the surveyor general to survey a four mile square area for the reservation (Johnson 1972, 212). The land grant was not formally approved by the Council until 1 April 1727, and it is apparent from the wording of the grant that the reservation had not been surveyed as ordered by the Council (see appendices 3 and 4).

Sir:
The 27th of September John Carter brought Negro Cofey to my house, as he says, by your orders, for me to examine concerning what the Saponys have told him about the white people, which I have done, and he tells me:
that Great George told him that John Sauano and a fellow called Ben Harrison was gone to the Cotobers to fetch one hundred of them to come and see why their Indians was put in prison,
and if Capt. Tom was hanged they would carry their wives and children over the Roanoke River and then they would drive the white people and negros as far as James River,
and he says that Tony Mack told him that if Pyah was hanged he and the Cotobers would come and take revenge of the English,
and he says that Sapony Tom told him if his son Harry Erwin was hanged they would kill you and three or four more Gentlemen and then go off,
and he says that Dick told him that we had no business to come to the fort armed to concern ourselves about their killing one another, but we were like a sow that had lost her pigs would rally for a little time and then have done *, but when they began a war with the English they never would have done *.
This from your humble servant to command,
Thomas Avent

December 8, 2008 at 12:42 pm #32922In 1730, “William Bohannon came into court and made oath that about twenty-six of the Sapony Indians that inhabit Colonel Spotswood’s land in Fox’s neck go about and do a great deal of mischief by firing the woods; more especially on the 17th day of April last whereby several farrows of pigs were burnt in their beds, and that he verily believes that one of the Indians shot at him the same day, the bullet entering a tree within four feet of him; that he saw the Indian about one hundred yards from him, and no game of any sort between them; that the Indian after firing his gun stood in a stooping manner very studdy [steady] so that he could hardly discern him from a stump, that he has lost more of his pigs than usual since the coming of the said Indians; which is ordered to be certified to the General Assembly. ” Orange county VA

Anyway…..let’s go back to where Susanna Collins’ son went to church….the Zion Church.
from the
SELECTED HISTORY OF THE UPCOUNTRY OF SOUTH CAROLINA :
Originally much of the area of present northwestern South Carolina, was known as Cherokee land. In fact, the lower Cherokee nation was centered in this territory. The capital village of the lower Cherokee nation was known as Keowee (from which we get the name Keowee River — and now Keowee Lake). When Lake Keowee was built in the nineteen sixties, the area where this village was located was flooded. The Keowee River is the boundary between present Pickens and Oconee counties of the Upstate. Present Greenville County was definitely part of the lower Cherokee nation. The area of present Spartanburg County, belonged to the Cherokees as well but served mostly as a buffer between the Catabaw Indians and the Cherokees.
William Foster, or Major “Billie”, as he was called, moved to the Upcountry in 1791 from Amelia county, Virginia, and settled a mile or so east of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, which was near Fort Prince in the Spartanburg District.
(Note: we will stop right there for a minute…..did the Saponi and Catawba visit each other….yes thereis stacks of documents to back that up).
In August of 1766, Charles Woodmason became an itinerant minister for the Anglican Church (Church of England) to the Carolina Backcountry. He kept a journal of some of the years of his ministry. He was originally from the London area of England; came to South Carolina and was a planter and merchant; and then returned to England to be ordained prior to returning to the Colony to begin his ministry. In his journal, he described the living conditions of the people living in the Upcountry as follows: “In all these excursions, I am obliged to carry my own Necessaries with me – as Bisket – Cheese – a Pint of Rum – Some Sugar – Chocolate – Tea, or Coffee – With Cups Knife Spoon Plate Towels and Linen. So that I go always heavy loaded like a trooper. If I did not, I should starve. Never will I be out again from home for a month together to take the Chance of things — As in many places have nought but a Gourd to drink out of; Not a plate knive or Spoon, a Glass, Cup, or any thing — It is well if they can get some body linen, and some have not even that. They are so burthen’d with Young Children, that the Women cannot attend both House and Field — And many live by hunting, and killing Deer — There’s not a Cabin but has 10 or 12 Young Children in it — When the boys are 18 and girls 14 they marry — so that in many cabins you will see 10 or 15 Children. Children and Grand Children of one Size….blah blah blah
December 8, 2008 at 12:42 pm #32924The men with only a thin shirt and pair of Breeches or Trousers on — barelegged and barefooted — The Women bareheaded, barelegged and barefoot with only a thin Shift and under Petticoat — Yet I cannot break them of this — for the heat of the Weather admits not any but thin Cloathing — I can hardly bear the weight of Whig and Gown, during service. The Young Women have a most uncommon Practise, which I cannot break them off. They draw their Shift as tight as possible to the Body, and pin it close, to shew the fineness of their Breasts, and slender waists (for they are generally fine shaped) and draw their Petticoat close to their Hips to shew the firmness of their limbs — so that they might as well be in Puri Naturalibus — Indeed Nakedness is not censurable or indecent here, and they expose themselves often quite naked, without Ceremony — Rubbing themselves and their Hair with Bears Oil and tying it up behind in a bunch like Indians — being hardly one degree removed from them.”

Hatteras. An Algonquian tribe living in 1701 on the sand banks of Cape Hatteras, N. C. east of Pamlico sound, and frequenting Roanoke Island. Their single village, Sandbanks, had them only about 80 inhabitants. They showed traces of white blood and claimed that some of their ancestors were white. They may have been identical with the Croatan Indians with whom Raleigh’s colonists at Roanoke Island are supposed to have taken refuge.
