Are the Brown families you mentioned scattered about or are they kind of clustered in one area? What county?

I have run into Browns in several locations in Virginia. There are quite a few in the Rocky Mt./Smith Mt. Lake area. In fact, one of the main ones that I knew preached in the Primitive Baptist church and was a hard working person. In fact, the whole family was.

There are also Browns in the Orange Co/Alamance Co. area as well. My SIL’s grandmother was Artelia Brown and looking at her photo in the Heritage books of Person County..it’s no doubt she was part NA. She married a Norris.

Now I’m curious. How close is the Loudon Co, NC area to this VA area? My Browns came west roundabout to MO from the east. Mine would be possibly Isaac Brown down to David Erasmus Brown(this I’m very sure of) who married a Hixson from OH.
