Did you say your Moores are from Nansemond County? We might be connected way back.
Linda
These Moores are not my direct lines, so I don’t know much about them. Two of my Bethiah Lambs siblings married Moores, but that was in Perquimans County, NC. Since the Lambs went there from Nansemond Co., VA, though, the coincidence may be worth noting.
What do you know of your Baker line? I have 1st cousins that are Bakers in Edgecombe County NC.
Linda
The earliest proven location for my Baker line is Roane County, TN as early as 1805. They were in North Carolina prior to that, but I haven’t yet traced them to a specific location. So far, my strongest suspicions are the Rowan and Surry County areas where there was a Moses Baker family in the latter half of the 18th century that I feel may be connected. It’s not as bad as tracing Smiths, but Bakers can be hard to sort out.
Chwe’n,
The Bennetts Creek Reservation was in present day Gates County NC which was carved out of Chowan County NC. My gggggrandfather Elisha Parker was one of the petitioners in 1790 that was on the petition to get back the Reservation land that had been sold there earlier.

I have Forbes descendents from Camden County NC as does my cousin David Webb. Does anyone have information on this line from Camden?
