You sure have my GGGrandpa. This is my Grandma Woolery’s Grandpa. He was from the VA area and joined the Union Army. He is now buried in the Springfield National Cemetery. We still place flowers on his marker. My Grandma had a picture of him. When Grandma passed, my Uncle took all of her pictures and I have nothing left. You sure did find him, and thanks. I’ll read this info. Right now I’m at the Sheriffs Station, WORKING(?????). Actually we are having a storm come through and all is very quiet, at least until the storms pass on by.
Let me know if you find any more. HE came straight to MO with his family. He is off the Wilson and Bryant lines as well as the Putney. Sue and I believe he married a Wooten. My Ggrandpas name was James Edgar Putney.

Greydove: did this list show how the Putney’s were decended from the Rolfe/Pocahontas lineage?
Grandma had a picture of her Grandpa shortly after the War. My Uncle took it after Grandma passed and I’m unable to get any of her pictures. He lived in California and passed away earlier this year. I have tried to contact my Aunt and Cousins but not very successful.

Osiyo Bob~ Um, no, the list didn’t show how the Putneys descend from Rolfe/Pocahontas lineage~only that a list of surnames that are included on the pdf file on the cd (for sale) were mentioned at least 10~12 times. I guess the only way to know would to buy the cd, although~just so you know I’m not plugging the cd seller. Anyway, I did a little searching and its hard to find anything much that doesn’t keep referring to a man named Henry Putney Beers who I guess wrote alot of books on Indians~maybe that might be worth cking into~also Putney VT shows up alot. I have a few surnames that I have that problem with when I’m searching~for instance~I have a Sparks forefather whose first name was George W and there was a writer who did alot on George Washington named Jared Sparks, so alot of that turns up~frustrating to say the least~I guess I need to learn more abt searching in a more precise fashion~ha~ha~but, I don’t discourage easily and in time things come to light~ I’ll post if I find anything for you, in the mean time~Good Luck ~Greydove~^~
That Cd comes with a Gedcom file.
I used to have the full list……someone I know has the cd…..but I can’t remember who it was…..I think someone on the r and s research group.
My Jordan and Fleming family is on the cd.
My Samuel Jordan was the neighbor of John Rolfe and pocahontas.
That Gedcom file is freaking loaded with Surnames lol…..if i remember right it has well over 50 surnames.
I think my “Gray/Grey” family is listed on there also….but can’t remember.
I believe every surname listed on the cd is descended from Pocahontas…….but like i said..the list is freaking HUGE.
I think the cd comes with the book if you buy the book….thats how my friend said she got the cd with the gedcom file.
I believe the gedcom file has something like 1500 or more names on it.
The pocahontas descendants group uses it alot.

Thats the basic family tree….like the first generations.
The person who runs that site is a expert on pocahontas.
