Native American genealogy research from the Piedmont of NC & VA
Hello all. My name is Ron Clay from near Huntington Wv. I’m 55 yrs old & very dark complexion. I was googling some ancestry stuff and came upon this site. Very interesting stuff. Oral family tradition says we have much native american but no one knows what. Since I’ve seen some of my ancesters names mentioned here I thought I’d see if y’all can fill me in on anything. One of my cousins is interested because her grandchild died from a native american specific disease. Here’s my lineage starting with my father; Troy Wilson Clay, Hurston Clay, Greenville Clay, Caleb Clay, Jordan Clay (born Halifax co VA, lived in Floyd,Pike co Ky-died Wayne co VA which is now WV), the rest of these are all VA-Caleb Clay 1, Thomas Clay, Charles Clay, Charles Clay 1, John Clay (immigrated from England early 1600’s) . Thanks for any info
Hello – I am brand new to this site, but am looking for anyone who may be able to help me make some connection to my heritage. I have heard all my life that I am definitely from Native American descent. My mother passed away without us ever able to obtain any good info. My mothers father was Jordan(Jordon Clay) born in KY sometime around 1839. He married Mary Blankenship in 1885. I have not been able to find any information as to Jordan’s parents, etc to begin to try to trace my heritage ——-if anyone has any suggestions or info I can not tell you how much I would appreciate it. thanks very much!
