John M Napier is the son of Robert and Morn Noe Napier.
John M Napier is the nephew of Fredrick F Napier
and is buried at Cawood . John M Napier’s grave marker reads Order of the Red Man buried at Cawood Ky.His wife is buried beside him in a grave that is marked only with field stone. There were some brothers that went to Clay, Bell, Perry and LetcherCounties. Dickeys Dairy talks of the Napiers in Clay Co. Patrick Napier who is the brother to Robert and Fredrick Napier
August 27, 2005 at 2:57 am #17055Where was John Napier buried at Cawood?
I use to live at Cawood, Ky.
August 27, 2005 at 2:57 am #17058I am doing my best to figure that out. I would like to see the stone myself. I can get a list of nine John Napiers. A cousin told me that he was buried in Cawood. I will email and see if they have more info.

August 27, 2005 at 2:57 am #17062I know of a Napier cemetery just pass Cawood a little bit. It’s at foot of mountain to cross over to Cranks. I have wanted to check it out to see who was buried there. I’ve been to the Napier cemetery at Cranks.
August 27, 2005 at 2:57 am #17064I was told about the cemetery at Cranks. Any good info there? I just sent an email to see if we can narrow this down.

August 27, 2005 at 2:57 am #17065I have a picture that I am told is John Morgan Napier and Lydia Garrett. Holler if you want to see it. Of course, you may already have it. I am working on getting pics of Mourning Napier. I have only found one and her head is down and she is wearing a bonnet. I have to go to Harlan to get a copy so it may be a minute.

yes he is buried in the cemetery at Crummies Creek Harlan Co Ky.
Here is how the marker reads. John M Napier IMP’D O.R.M. T.O.T.E. There is no other information
on the marker. There are four Garretts buried there also.If I am not mistaken John M was married to a
Garrett and she is buried there beside him in unmarked grave,
Directions Follow 421 to Cawood and from Cawood to Crummies take old 421 to the foot of the mtn where there used to be a commissary.Up on the hill about three hundred feet off the hyway you will find the cemetery.
There is a large brick home across the road from where the commissary once stood.
August 27, 2005 at 2:57 am #17098That’s the cemetery that I was thinking of.
Do you have who the Garretts are in the cemetery?
There was a Louisa Garrett in 1860 census 5 years old d/o Thomas Garrett & Sarah.
I believe I was told that Ewell V. Napier (1885-1925) was buried at that cemetery. Ewell was s/o John Napier & Binda. John s/o Ewell Venable Napier, who was s/o Robert Napier.
August 27, 2005 at 2:57 am #17109With “Order of the Red Man” written on the tombstone of John Morgan Napier, I hereby suggest that any claims of Native American heritage are the direct result of the misguided and misinformed functionings of the fraternity in question and those practices have created a false identity among its members and descendants of those members.
