In the line of James Grigsby and Susanna Redmond is son Samuel, his son Samuel and his son William Grigsby married to Anna Cornwell. Her parents William Cornwell and Mary Swann. William son of Charles/Coleman Cornwell and Jane Howison, and brother to Charles who married Elizabeth Thornton. This connects the lines of Greydove’s Grigsby’s with Starr’s Cornwells in Orange co In. Also Samuel Father of William Grigsby married Franky Cornwell. Haven’t placed her parents. Saj

Hi Saj, I brought your post into mine as a quote so Starr would be sure to not miss it. That is very interesting information! What a find!! You know, these Grigsbys tie into alot of people here at Saponitown. And as you probably already know they have ties into the Patawomeck Indians? Looks like we are related as soon as this all sinks in I’ll try to put it all together somehow. Also my children are Related to Redmonds on their father’s side. Small world!!

Just wanted to let you know that on Americas’ death cert. it is only listed as A.J. Collins as father no name! But I have found Phobe’s daughter and am going to see her next Tuesday so maybe she’ll know

In the Breathitt co Ky census 1910 is Clarinda Collins, Andrew age 17? Who is Andrew? Minnie, William and Samuel H. Clarinda is shown as 12 years old but when you see the actual census image she is head of household and widowed. These are all of the names in the obit for America Collins as siblings. America would have been married by this census. Will post more in time. Saj

Is America listed in this census? Clarinda Freeland is listed as giving the INFO for America on her D.C. Minnie, Samuel are her siblings but where is Linzy? Does Andrew have a middle initial (B)
This is making me dizzy , What is Williams age? 3-4 yrs maybe?

What we started with was the obit for America Collins. The siblings listed are those still alive. In the 1910 census for mother Clarinda Collins listed as widowed, Linzy is already married. Married in 1905. America is already married and out of the house. The census also had columns for how many children Clarinda had (10) and how many still living in 1910. (7) That could be helpful. There was no initial for Andrew. William was shown as about age 12. So of the seven living children in 1910….America, Linzy, Minnie, William, Samuel H., and ? Just need to keep piecing together. Will keep trying to develop this. Saj

What if we figure that A.J. Collins is Andrew b. abt 1852 in Breathitt Co
making his father William who married Polly McDaniels ?
I found a Andrew Collins m. to Clarinda (unknown):confused:
This also shows a daughter Matilda b. 2/1880 but no more
The times and places seem to match within a year of each other or did I only help to add to the Confusion?

This looks pretty good. I showed before a Clarinda Armstrong born to Riley Armstrong and Alicey “Dicy” Ritchie. They also have a Nancy Armstrong married to James Collins. James born Nov 1848 in Breathitt co Ky. In 1860 Breathitt co Ky census are:
William Collins 51 born Va
Polly 49 born Perry co Ky.
Nancy 20 born Breathitt co Ky.
John 16, Eliza 14, JAMES 12, Sally A 10, ANDREW 8 and Babe 4. All these born in Breathitt. Saj
