Native American genealogy research from the Piedmont of NC & VA
I was googling something and found a couple of interesting items:
http://www.tutorgig.com/ed/Siouan – discusses the westward movement of Siouan peoples following languages. My folks seemed to follow their language westward.
This long one : ttp://72.14.203.104/search?q=cache:wxrG9pRvVqUJ:http://www.herbarium.unc.edu/WeakleysFloraPart1.pdf+%22eastern+blackfoot%22+wisconsin&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=10
or the pdf version : http://www.herbarium.unc.edu/WeakleysFloraPart1.pdf (Copy and paste the entire location, not just the url that appears underlined by the saponitown site software. You need it all. If this does not work, use the pdf file.
This lists an “Eastern Blackfoot” quillwort in NC, SC, VA.
