I have been trying for years to find info for my ggm Mary Nick Edwards.Death certificate says born Franklin Co.NC She died in Warren, NC and is also buried there. It does not list her parents. I have copy of where she and husband applied for marriage license. No helpful info there. Can’t find an obit for her. I have contacted a lady in Warren County (historical society member) who has also tried searching for Mary. I have contacted funeral home and Church no info, plus they say that if that lady doesn’t have info there is none to be had. Not able to locate her on census before she married. Thought I had her once in Franklin county, but proved not to be her. Emailed with several people from genealogy sites. Nothing so far. Contacted her oldest living grandson asked him about her. He doesn’t know.
Some where along the line it was suggested she may be mixed, but not by grandson. Help ideas where to look next.
Mary Nick Edwards 1862-1923
April 19, 2012 at 1:19 pm #36228Glad to see Saponitown back up and running. After looking at my previous post about Mary Nick Edwards I thought I would add this. Her death cert. says she was 60 when she died, that making her birth year 1863. Her headstone says she was born in 1861.
I know that info on any death certificate is only as accurate as the person giving it. Guess the same might be true on headstones. Makes me wonder about if her father was from Franklin NC like it says. It doesn’t list his first name or her mother’s.

Were you able to get the information that you needed?
I found family tree that looks like what you are searching for, but maybe you have already found it by now.

April 19, 2012 at 1:19 pm #36304I wanted to say hello and wanted this community to know that I will be able to help ancestry search since I am retired with plenty of time. I have dedicated about 10 years research to my own family and have traced back to 40AD.I enjoy ancestry and enjoy helping others for free.
April 19, 2012 at 1:19 pm #36601For those that don’t know, Amy Hines Ralston (Painted Horse) crossed over this year in April. She lost her husband and best friend in January of this year as well. We can only surmise that between the cancer and a broken heart that Creator saw fit to take her into His loving arms. She leaves behind two children, Joseph and Amanda. She also leaves behind many friends in Person county and SC where she resided the last couple of years. We will miss her wit and wisdom along with her talent for finding ancestors. Rest in peace, dear friend….we miss your smiling face. Love you, Becky and Ken
