Native American genealogy research from the Piedmont of NC & VA
Do you all think that our children at birth should have DNA Testing done so their birth certificates will reference their “true” identity? I was just pondering this topic and was seriously thinking about having it done for my future newborn babies. Some people call what happen to our ancestors “pencil genocide” (changing birth certificates/other documents). I would appreciate your thoughts.
Hello,
Personally, I think that this would be a bad idea. I prefer the older methods of knowing who you are, who your cousins are, who your ancestors are, and how you conduct yourself.
DNA testing can show many things….but it will never show you, or anyone else, who YOU are.

Lynne
