Native American genealogy research from the Piedmont of NC & VA
Ok Bill, just incase Grandma was wrong on her mothers “Jackson “sur name at birth(Martha) which as I said before, was what Grandma had put down on her social security application, I was looking at GGrandmas death certificate which has two Different sur names on it, one being “Ayers and the other being “Galloway”. I called the cemetery she is buried at in PA. , they said that they have Galloway as a maiden name, she has no Headstone but “Ayers” is the name that would be put down if she had one. I’m starting to think Grandma and her mother didn’t know each other to well (LOL). Thanks for helping with this, GGrandma is where I keep hitting a brick wall. I am a member of ” Ancestory. com” , I found census on Margaret Webb(Grandma) and Estelle her sister, married with the sur name “Taylor” in New York, Do you have any tips on locating them prior New York?
Bill, I,ve been searching on ancestory.com for info dating past what we have found already regarding my family sur names”WEBB, AYERS, & JACKSON”
I repeatedly hit the brick wall, I know you were searching quite a bit also, is it possible that not every one of us will find our ancestors? Thank you for your time. Judith
