Native American genealogy research from the Piedmont of NC & VA
Is there anyone on this forum that may have a Greene- Harden connection,? a marriage etc.
Also Iam looking for a Goens-Carey connection aswell, if anyone has please send me a private message.
SAwell, there was a Treaty interpretotr for many of the early Cherokee treaties, such as Holstone etc, I would be very interested to see a family chart, I have no idea where he went to if he relocated into Indian Territory or not, or if he may have had a Cherokee name that he may have used aswell.
Anything would help.!
Tom,
I have Green in my ancestry and there are Hardins buried in the same cemetery with my Green-descended ancestors. The main Green ancestry book, “The Green Tree” reflects Hardins (Harding) who intermarry also. The families came through Ohio together apparently. Check out : http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohlcgs2/lostpioneer.htm. There is a Harden listed there in the lost pioneers. One of those “lost pioneers”, William Sinkey, is my gggggrandfather and is buried in my ancestor’s cemetery in Iowa.
One of those Hardens marries into my cousin’s Butt-Green line. Check out : http://www1.tribalpages.com/tribe/browse?userid=butts&view=0&pid=39&rand=96738
You will see Harding, Green, and Butts all on this page. There are 6 or 7 of us who are descendents who grew up knowing that we had NA running in this line. This is the line that many of us think is Shawnee.
