Hi,

Just found this forum….looks great! Always good to mingle with others of Native heritage. My name is Brian Voncannon from North Carolina….descendant of the Hathcock family. Ive spent a great deal of time with the Occaneechi over the years and wrote a book about them/Hathcock connection.

Just returned from the Hillsborough Powwow on the Eno…was a great time….

Anyway, just wanted to say hi……

PS. Ron Hathcock….I saw you posting on here somewhere!!!

We also attended the Hillsborough Pow wow…it was a really good one, wasn’t it? Very special to see John honor the drum and Little Bear get his Eagle Feathers. Wish we had known you were going…we could have met some where.

Brian – Your last name is part of my mom’s maiden name (Cannon). I am curious about the “Voncannon” name? They resided between Warren County, NC and Virginia border.

Not sure if it’s a connection but, Nannie Daisy Cannon married William Beenum Gray. They are my great-grandparents on my father’s side.
