Native American genealogy research from the Piedmont of NC & VA
Hi Linda
In my case I am saying that I am a direct descendent of Gov Alexander Spotswood the Royal Governor of Virginia who built the Royal Palace in Williamsburg and Queen Aliquippa of McKeesport/Pittsburgh. I did not just pick this out of the air. I actually found some family paperwork that says this is so. A grandson of this couple was adopted by the wealthy riverboat building Myers family of Pittsburgh. They named him William Myers.
A very simple quick Male Y Line DNA test that cost $250 would tell if this is so. This is the most reliable of all the DNA tests. The Foundation moved Alexander Spotswood’s grave 5 years ago removing several bones for such a test. The Spotswood Foundation after looking at my paperwork, refuses to do such a test. This is even though I agreed to pay for everything and maybe even putting in a little extra.
The way they look at it, I do not exist. Things have not changed in 200 years.
Larry
Why not try to find another Spotswood male and pay for his and your test?
This has not been easy. I actually found someone but they backed off as soon as I said something about a Native American connection. As I said, some things don’t change in 200 years. Actually make that 300 years.

Hmm, I don’t get it…
Maybe I am more open-minded than I think.
