Thanks to everyone for the good wishes. We had the gathering today. Great food, great friends, great 70 degree day (a mite windy), great dancing. What can I say other than it was all good. …… 4 cakes, three of which were chocolate………….. 😉
Sure am sorry I missed the gathering. You and Becky have such a nice place and being with friends and family is always great. And I’m glad the bad weather missed you. It was wild here. Just before the storm we went to the lake and retied some of the boats that were hitting the piers or in some cases were jammed under the piers from the previous storm. Then we sat at the kitchen window and watched the tempature drop from 79 degrees to 70 degrees in 25 minutes. I’ll have to say while at the lake watching the clouds was fun, but the wind. Even the sailboats were having a rough time. Timmy and I will just try double hard to make the next one.

My present from Becky arrived via UPS yesterday. Over 15 lbs of research books from the NC Archives, namely the 5 volumes of Papers of Wiley P Mangum compiled and transcribed by Shanks…… a total of about 3000 pages. I’m ready for a “snow day” 😉
