To All Mothers,
I’d just like to take a moment to wish all mothers a Happy Mother’s Day. In our modern times of Women’s Lib and such, it seems like we’ve lost sight of how important a mother really is. She has the most important job in any culture. They say that a child’s basic personality and character is formed in the first five years of life. In traditional cultures, while the men were out working and feeding/defending the family, the mothers were instilling the morals and values into the children at home. I think this is the greatest loss of modern society. The fact that most women now have to work outside the home to help make ends meet has taken it’s toll on our children. Today many chiildren are raised by daycare and babysitters, not by those that love them most, the family. The parents only see their children for an hour or two before bedtime which comes all too early because the parents are tired and want a little “private time”.
So I’m glad we have this day to honor mothers. You deserve it. Yours is such an important job. Never let anyone minimize your task. As Mother Earth nurtures us all, you mothers teach and nurture our greatest asset, our children! Thanks.

I was fortunate enough to have been able to stay at home until my youngest was in school. That was important to me. I feel for the women these days that pretty much have to drop the baby and go back to work. It’s a sad situation in our society.
Mother’s Day I received many special gifts from my kids and my hubby. I feel very fortunate to have raised 3 wonderful children and to have found such a good man to share my life….again.

It’s great to hear of others that choose the same path as my wife and I. She stayed home with our two daughters till our youngest started school too. Then she went back and finished her degree. Now she’s a Special Ed teacher, and a good one! Everyone comments on how good our girls are; well-behaved and good mannered, and they’re best friends too. Most of their friends with sisters fight like “cats and dogs”. When our youngest went on the sixth grade trip to Chicago this spring, the other missed her so much she slept in her room while her “sissy” was gone. There’s no substitute for love in child-rearing! We sacrificed a lot with my wife not working, but it has paid off in great dividends, two happy, well-adjusted teenagers, a rare thing in this day! Thanks for sharing!
