It appears that my ancestor William Harris was born about 1750 in Brunswick Co. Va,
William was the son of Isaac Harris born about 1729, and died about 1777 in Meherrin Parrish Brunswick, Va.
I believe Isaac Harris was married to a woman named Mary Polly Lynch….
If anyone knows anything about this Harris or Lynch family please contact me…
I believe that part of this family left Brunswick County, Va. with one portion of the family going to Halifax Co. N.C., and some going to Mecklenberg Co. N.C., then onto Blount Co. Tn, and Haywood County, N.C.
I could be wrong but it looks like what could be labeled a Saponi migration trail…….Jeff Beard

My Harris side may have originally come from Va. They did migrate to Halifax/Warren Co are also known as Hollister. That is where the Haliwa Saponi tribe is located. I can’t find any more info on my John M. Harris beyond Hollister NC. I am sure he may have been from Va. I have found so many John Harris in Va on Ancestry.com with the same birth year that it is hard to tell which one may be his family. All of the Harrises that would have that information in my family are all deceased. I would like to go back at least 300 years on the Harris side. I have gone back that far on all the other sides and my links are Saponi, Blackfoot, Chickahominy, Tuscarora so far.

My ancestor William Harris had a brother named John Harris, they were the sons of Isaac Harris and Mary Polly Lynch.
After Isaac Harris died around 1777, the court ordered that John Harris along with some of his siblings to be bound out by the Church Warden of Meherrin Parrish.
Could this maybe be your John Harris ?
Is Harris or Lynch common surnames among the Haliwa-Saponi ?

Yes Harris and Lynch are both common Haliwa Saponi names. I ran across Issac and Polly on ancestry.com and I got this funny feeling when I ran across their names. Maybe this is my Harris family. You know I have had all the info I have run across to just fall in my lap so to speak. This may be what I have been looking for. Let’s talk sometime in more detail. I will email you my numbers.
