Hi, Well here is another Sizemore decendant.I am threw the
Wilburn Blevins line. His grandaughter Rosa C Blevins from Ashe Co Nc was my greatgrandmother.I have searched every record I could think of trying to find the Indian Connection.Family story as do many other family stories say it is definately there. It looks
like the Cherokee was the wrong place to look I see in this forum
that the Shawnee Indian line is where I need to look.I have been told that I decended from Black Dutch,Cherokee and even Melungeon. Now I am led to think I descend from Shawnee. Maybe someone out there can finally find the truth. My family comes from Ashe Co Nc and Settled in the area of Wise Va.
If anyone out there is familiar please write me Thanks
Every one calls me Toni:)

There is a DNA project through Family Tree DNA dealing with the Sizemores. I have a nephew who married into the Sizemore Clan and she is definitely Native American. I have a lot on the Sizemores back in Ky, not with me here in Texas. Chief Red Bird, George All and a bunch more. Leslie County and Clay County Kentucky are full of Sizemores.
You identify the Harts; my wife’s great-grandmother was a Hart, the daughter of Anderson Hart. He was the son of Alfonso Hart. The were in Whitley Co. Ky.

If you use the ‘search’ button (on the upper right) for “Hart”, there are 24 threads with Hart.

The Austin family has a line of Blevins married “in” in the same Saponi ancestry I have. You might look up Lucinda Lucy Blevins who was the wife of Isaiah Austin and the mother of Bledsoe Austin who was my greatggg
grandfather.b. 2-18-1879

Lucinda and Isaiah.Do you have a middle name for Bledsoe.

October 31, 2006 at 3:41 am #24104Hi everyone,
I just joined today because I was looking for anything about Chief Bear Hart and found this site from searching Google. Anyway, my grandmothers maiden name was Blevins. On down the line is Chief Bear Hart who bore James Hart who married Elizabeth Morgan and they had Anna Elizabeth Hart. Anna married George E. Sizemore and they had Lydia Sizemore who married James Blevins, etc. I wrote Dan Akin asking about Chief Bear Hart because I do not know the tribe. However, on my grandmothers maternal side (Mary Waters) is a Catawba Indian. I do believe Mary Waters was on the Cherokee roles. I have also been researching the daughter of the male Catawba Indian named Nancy Cullum, b. 1176. Supposedly, she was adopted by a Baptist minister and his wife and married John P. Waters. Anyway, if anyone knows anything, please let me know. Glad I found this site, Susan in Florida.
October 31, 2006 at 3:41 am #24107Hi Susan, Glad to have you aboard.I have found that in genealogy it takes many
researchers to put together a good story. We seem to be family in the long run of things.I too trace back to Cheif Bear Hart aka: William Jackson b: 1725 in
Hanover Va. My ggrandmother Was Rosa C Blevins d/o James Marshall Blevins
of Ashe Co NC.I have found very little on Cheif Bear Hart.I have found no real proof only stories.I have not run across the Cullum line at all.If i find anything I will be in touch. Good hunting Toni
