Native American genealogy research from the Piedmont of NC & VA
I can’t remember if I shared this link. It’s from work I did last winter. I had a little gig for William & Mary, inputting original source documents. From all that research I wrote the following analysis of the narratives concerning Bacon’s Rebellion. There’s a lot of conflicting testimonies about it, which is good, since we get to see a number of sides to the conflict. It was this insurrection that led to the destruction of the Occoneechee, which was a disasterous breakpoint for all Piedmont Siouan.

There’s also links from there to the original narratives. It’s quite a number of pages, but it’s a fair amount of the material that exists. Felicia and I are developing (“getting to know”) characters for an outdoor drama about the massacre. We’re having a great time with it. It’s going to be fantastic.
Thanks for that link Linda. I know very little about Bacon’s rebellion, but I have heard of it.
I read the table of context and index just now. Can’t wait to read more of it.

Linda,
That is downright awsome! I’ll have to check it out better later, but I skimmed through the Bacon’s Rebbelion part (to be read later) and, well, ya’ know me, I checked out the beadwork and the pottery! Way Cool Stuff!!! Thank you for the link. I’ll be back for a better look later. Lynella.;)
