Just a note to let you all know I am home again. I have been in 3 hospitals for over a month. First was sent to Good Sameritains, then St. Elizabeth in Boston and then to Brintree rehab. Needless to say I am glad to be home. I am still weak and not able to sit on the computer for any length of time.
Dialysis is going great…it is the arthritis that is getting to me.
It appears that when I am an stronger I have a lot of reading to catch up. Linda and Cheryl I would love to hear from you.

Glad you’re home and the dialysis is working! You have probably missed some great threads. The one Brenda Sampsel is in thick as thieves with Bess and Techteach, about the Conoy town families is very deep. There’s a lot to digest. Don’t overdo it, but it will be great to have you around.

I am related to John Davis & Jemima Jefferson. I have been searching for John Davis’ father and mother. What I have found so far is his father was Robert Davis and his mother Margaret Hughes. Robert Davis was born abt 1700 Hanover, Virginia and died abt 1771 Florida. There are family trees on computer sites I have found that say that Robert Davis was the son of Nathaniel Robert Davis and Mary Elizabeth Hughes. Mary Elizabeth Hughes was the daughter of Capt John Rice “Trader” Hughes and Princess Nicketti Powhatan. My John Davis was born abt 1732 Augusta County, Virginia and Jemima Jefferson was born abt 1736 Amherst County, Virginia (in History of Logan County, Virginia by Swain states that her sons William and Thomas Davis said they were first cousins to President Thomas Jefferson). John Davis died abt 1799 Edgecombe, North Carolina. His children were Robert, Thomas (my line), William, John, Mary, Jemima, James, Betty “Poor Betty”, George, and Mary Polly. All of John Davis’ boys were Rev War soldiers but his son Robert due to having a club foot. Jemima Jefferson Davis was married first to Ahira Collins. Does anyone know anything about whether John Davis, the son of Robert Davis, is in fact descended from the Robert Davis that is the son of Nathaniel Robert Davis and Mary Elizabeth Hughes. My grandmother Bertha Davis Bevins who passed away at 97 years old used to tell me that her Davis line were from Wales and had descended from a Indian Princess. I heard this all my childhood days up until my grandma passed in 2000. I have been researching this and trying to find out if it is true. Thanks for any help. My Davis’ were in Albemarle County, Virginia and immigrated to Logan County, West Virginia and Mingo County, West Virginia.
I have a gggggg Grandfather John Hughes married to an Indian Princess Kezia. They were in Western NC in the late 1700-early 1800’s. They had a son (my ggggg) Jeremiah Hughes who married a NA who he traded two horses for. And of that was her name. They lived in Yancey County, NC. Some say she was Osage, some say Sioux and some Blackfoot. Any help would be appreciated.
