Yes. Hannah Allen is the daughter of William Allen and Frances Grant. William son of Robert Allen and Elizabeth Walker. William and Frances also have son Grant Allen who married Mary B Coleman daughter of Richard Coleman and Sarah (Sally) Winstead daughter of Cottance Winstead and Katherine Hall. Cottance son of Samuel Winstead and Elizabeth Jones. Then Drury Allen born C1714 is a brother to William Allen. This is the Drury who married Elizabeth Tinsley and had the son David who married Catherine Lanier. Ones buried in Person co. There are numerous connections here. Another son of William Allen and Frances Grant was William who married Sarah Howard. Now I need to check, is Grant his son and the William his grandfather? It was the son of Drury who married Joanna Coleman (another daughter of Richard Coleman and Sarah Winstead) who had Nicholas who married Rebecca Lunsford. Gets pretty darn confusing. Saj

Ken- Henry Groves parents were William and Elizabeth “Hillsman”. I know nothing about the Hillsman family. Does anyone else have this info about the Hillman Family?
As far as the Multiple Tribe thing, isn’t that basically what the Lumbee People area about? Isn’t this basically why/how the Fed’s made this group an NDN group and now hopefully a Fed Rec Tribe?

I have checked all my local resources and find no records for any Hillsman families. I suspect we are looking for William and Elizabeth Holeman. Holeman is a common name in this area’s history.
What do you know about the Holeman family? Is there anyone who really knows about this family of William and Elizabeth (H????????)?

Yes, these areas do seem to come up quite often. I’m not sure right now but Bertie Co does seem to ring a bell.
Hey Sue or Ken, I have met on line a Cuzn looking for info about the Howard, Allen, Hunt relations. Her eddress is/was Chery1305@yahoo.com. I think I have it right. I met her on the Allen Family Forum.

Hey Bob,
Sue had more info on the Allen line. Other than that, I haven’t had any time to do any work on my lines. I have been working on some other projects but powwow dancing, hide tanning, cemetery surveying, yardwork, gardens, a 40 hour / week job and a new granddaughter have been keeping me pretty busy.

I am the Cherokee woman researching the Austin/Allen connections.
Just to trigger memory, we were the ones researching Miles Austin.
We found the father and mother of Miles Austin.
Ransom/e Austin m Prucilla Allen York, Va- Miles b a 1793/1794.
Thank you for any direction you may be able to give us in our ancestor research.

DreamingHawk, are you still out there? I haven’t been around much since we lost Sue(SAJ). I really want to appologize. I’ve also, been working on my Smith’s and Selby’s. I can’t remember who, I think it was Sue, had mentioned once that we are Pocahantas descendants. I’m going to try to come back more often.
