Hi Everyone,
I know I havent talked with many of you and I haven’t been here on the forum very long but I have a request to make. I live in Lillian Alabama that is between Gulf Shores, Al and Pensacola Fl. Last year we got hit really hard by Hurricane Ivan and we are still recovering. Now if you have not heard we have Hurricane Dennis breathing down our necks. They are telling us this Hurricane may be as strong as Ivan the Terrible. My request is that you all send your prayers to our Creator that He will show mercy on us this time. Lillian looked like a war zone after Ivan hit us so did Pensacola. It has taken months to get things back to “normal” and still many people have not completely repaired their roofs. Ivan brought huge condos crashing down. Pray that Dennis doesn’t do this to us, please.
Guess you all can tell I’m a bit frightened. Mother nature is a strong force and when she gets the water going it can be devastating. Please pray for us down on the gulf coast. Thank you.

I have an uncle down by Cocoa Beach Fl and he was hit by Charlie, it took them a while also. Currently my husband is at Ceremony in a tent! Getting pounded by the remenants of TS Cindi, so I am doing alot of praying right now needless to say I keeping jumping on the weather channel web site for radar updates. We have no phone contact right now because he has bad cell reception in the mountains.
We will be praying that Dennis will be kind to everyone…we just went through Cindi last night…our area got alot of rain…some warnings..but, everything seems to have turned out ok. And looking at the weather this morning, looks like Dennis will trek our way next week. Stay safe, and may the Creator bless you and your family.
Still waiting to talk to my husband, he left a message yesterday telling me that they survived the Torental rains 6 hours after he said his feet were still wet, Have not heard from him since.
Dennis is not looking good unfortunetly, You are deffinetly in my thoughts and prayers, I hope everyone that way boards up and evacuates.
I am hoping it looses force over Cuba, thats the best chance.
The trek of Dennis brings him right on top of us. Just east of Perdido Bay which is were I live. Lillian is on the west shores of Perdido bay. Frankly I’m scared to death. We left for Ivan but we got in the gridlock in Slidell, La. so my husband will not leave this time. Please pray for us.

We will be praying for you…I have a friend in Gulf Shores that was devastated by Ivan, too…..may the Creator be with you….
Hello Everyone,
Thank you for your prayers. We were very lucky this time. Dennis came ashore about 30 miles east of us. His eye was not that large and all his severe winds were close to the eye. We had our dryer vent blown off but that is it. AND WE HAVE POWER!!!! Alot of Pensacola is still without power. He did however hit the Creek rez just north of us in Atmore but it looks like they are okay too. There were no deaths this time. Ivan killed many people. The beach at Narvarre looks pretty rough but his storm surge was not that bad. His winds were what messed up Narvarre. Of course there are curfew and such and alot of businesses in Pensacola are not open due to the power being out. There are sewer problems in some locations especially in northern Escambia County Florida. But all of us are doing well. For me it’s just heartbreaking to watch those that are suffering because of this hurricane because I know firsthand how it feels to go home and see your home messed up. Last year I remember saying this is the price you pay for living in paradise now I’m not so sure this place is paradise if you know what I mean. (big sigh). Again thanks for the prayers….as it looks we are going to need lots of them this hurricane season.

Sooo glad you are ok! After alot of thinking about moving from Michigan we considered Florida at one time, I dont think that is going to happen with the Hurricanes, Thought about moving to Arizona, not going to live in 114 degree heat in the summer with Massive Forest fires… nope so I am going to stay right here in Michigan for now.
This one has the city of New Orleans in her sights….not good…bad bad bad…..New Orleans is below sea level and has dykes all around it…..the lake will flood the city. Plus they have to pump rain water out and their pumps only pump an inch a hour out. The Big Easy is in serious trouble. They will most likely dump some of that powder stuff on this hurricane in hope to kill it some before landfall. I don’t like the idea of playing with mother nature but 1.2 million people call New Orleans home. Biloxi MS will be hit too. There is about 100 miles of beach between us and New Orleans so we will get some of the tropical storm force winds it will be nasty here but nothing like over there. I am hoping that it moves more to the east around the middle shore of Mississippi the reason I pray for this is that it is not as populated there and we will still be 70 miles to the east of the eye. Also the whole coast of Miss. is protected by barrier islands most of these islands are parks and are not inhabited. The barrier islands will take the majority of the storm surge lessening the impact on the mainland. If Katrina gets Cat 4 strength and hits New Orleans you will hear of destruction on a massive level and probably more death then we want to imagine.
