Native American genealogy research from the Piedmont of NC & VA
In the history forun I mentioned Hurst and Beeler (Bohler) are surnames connected to Bunch.
In Frederick Co VA, Samuel Washington Beeler 1743-1824 married Amelia Hurst 1753-1833, her brother William is an ancestor of Theordore Hurst 1900 – 1983 who married Dorothy Bunch 1906-1988. Dorothy Bunch’s parents are James Bunch 1866- 1940 and Josephine ‘Josie’ Collins 1871-1952. All of Douglas Co MO.
This picture of Dorothy Bunch and Theodore Hurst is from Ted Collins’ page My COLLINS Research including BUNCH, BURNETT, HURST, HUTCHISON, PETTYJOHN, BLACKSTONE, BARLOW etc.
These ancestors are on my Potter side. Amelia Beeler (1811-1887) is the grandaughter of Amelia Hurst and Samuel W Beeler. She was born in Butler County Ohio and was 16 when she married Thomas Potter (1800-1872) there in 1827. Their son Julius C Potter (1837-1893) was my grandmother’s grandfather. Although she never knew him as he died at 56 in Darke Co OH from being kicked by a horse.
Interesting to see the different migration paths taken by the descendants of the two Hurst siblings. VA/NC-OH-IN and VA/NC-TN/KY-MO.
