I have finished my classes and just need one simple transcript to get from Colorado to NC before Friday:) I plan to be in Greensboro for graduation on Saturday…and may try to make OSP afterwards…Blessings to all,

Hey Shirley,
Hope to see ya this weekend. We are planning to camp at OSP Friday & Saturday night if nothing is broken. Will be in section B. Might get some kinda food and fire going at night. Come on over.
Just been trying to wrap up last minute things…flying out to Greensboro tomorrow:) Definately look forward to seeing you all:) Looks like its only an 1 1/2 drive…so we should get there while it is still light…OSP is so beautiful, can’t wait to be there again!

It was really great to see all of you!:) The kids were tickled when I told them Ken had made something for them:) Hope you all had a good night of camping…we passed through some pretty severe weather; we stayed at Martinsville, which cut at least an hour off our trip to Summersville:) Spent the day with dad, aunts and family:) Aunt B promised bisquits, sausage gravy and fried potatoes for breakfast…can’t wait!
Hope we can stay longer and visit next time…blessings,

It was great to see y’all again. The storm missed the OSP campgrounds. (Just a lot of wind) We ate native food cooked over open flames. Venison, beans, squash, onions, greens, corn on and off the cob, sweet potatoes, irish potatoes, cornbread and fruit. It was all good. Safe journey home. We love you and will have your chairs waiting when you return.
It was good to see you again. Next time may be you will have longer to stay and we can fix some of that native food for ya. Of course, what Aunt B was fixing sounds pretty good, too. Tell the kids hello for us and that we missed them. And you need to start working on your regalia and get in the circle next time…..
Mmm, mmm. Tummy is still full. Pass the squash. lol
What a wonderful weekend. Shirley, it was great to see you and yours again. Hope you will be up for dancing next time and enjoy some food with us.
I was great seeing all of you as well:) And Aunt B’s breakfast was awesome!! But will look forward to next time with you all…sounds like you had good food and a great time:) Maybe we can make the frisco next year…I’m usually really for some “real” warmth come April:)

Made it in about 2am this morning:) Had a wonderful trip, but it is always great to come home:)
Went to the NC archives yesterday…probably not the best weekend, since the convention of genealogists was going on, but what an awesome place:) We did some research, then went down the road to Hillsborough…
I can’t tell you the feelings that overcame me there, I will be going back! We checked court records there…and then went to the museum. It has a nice display on the local history…and I was told that John Blackfeather Jeffries was instrumental in putting together the the local Native history display there; some of his work is also on display…so if any of you are ever in the area, you should check it out! The feelings I had while here lead me to believe my family was there…I know that Jordan Gibson was a Regulator…looks like a good place for me to continue research.

Yeah, I was supposed to be at the convention today for Flat River Gravefinders to have a table.
Hillsborough is a very ancient town with lots of history. You will have to come back when they have a reenactment and let the kids see it. And they do a walking tour as well. Sounds like you had the same type thing I experienced when I visited Rosewell plantation, home of the Page family in Gloucester, Va. John lives in Hillsborough and has been instrumental in much of the history there….did you go to the museum at the pow wow? His regalia is in there as well. If you have anything you want looked up, let me know. We don’t live that far from there.

Would have loved to stayed in Raleigh longer…in fact you could lock me up in the archives and come and get me in a month or so:) I did find a lot of Gibson info, but most has already been documented by cousins…
So did you have a table for Gravefinders? I just loved going to the graveyards in Grundy (have to go back!) and you and ken taught us so much on what to look for, thanks:)
No doubt there was a deep stirring in my gut when we came into town…I will definately be digging around:)…and will let you know if I need a search, thanks:)
btw, the kids loved the necklaces…AJ wore his to his baseball game tonight:)

A friend of ours came and got our materials and took them down there. I had to be at work because our computer geek was coming.
You know I take a path home that goes by Stagville, an old plantation…and it just feels comfortable to me. In fact, yesterday had been kinda stressful and I took the way home by the Big Barn…an old dirt road that I think was a path from there to our land that was a part of his Person county plantation….so I know about feelings.
