I’m trying to research a community of indian/mixed-blooded families who lived at Turkey Creek in Buncombe co. N.C. in the early 1800’s.. Some of the surnames are Lowe, Freeman, Harrison, possibly Chavis.

My ancestor was Samuel lowe a full-blooded Creek Indian, who bought land from Aaron Freeman who was a mixed-blooded Chowan Indian in October of 1812.
