I’m starting a new thread. I hope it is in the correct place on the forum. I’m chipping away at my research again. What NDNS lived in Charlottsville, VA? According to an old map I found online, it appears that it was Saponi country. Also, does anyone know what tribe(s) lived along the James River? I wonder too if circumstances surrounding the removal of the Cherokee would force them to retreat into the Blue Ridge Mountains. Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Cindy. This is really a great map. The features really help for an orientation to the area. I even see the mysterious TOCKWOGH. Does anyone know about the KUSKARAWAOK?

Thank you so much! The other ones I looked at were hard to read. Hey, does anyone know anything about Buffalo Ridge Cherokees? I am researching this also. Thank you in advance for your wisdom and knowledge; and more, for sharing what you know. I feel I am getting closer to finding my home. I can’t wait ’til my spirit can return to the place it came from and I am welcomed by my tribe. It will be a day of rekoning!
