I was engrossed in hystory yesturday and came across this. It isn’t much information really, but a couple of names caught my eye and I have a Tryon/Tyrone we’re not sure, not actually a blood relative. She married my g-grandfather Frank Kinder after my Grandpa Alsie was born. I’ll put the first paragraph here and then the link and hopefully it will work!:)
The Tuscarora Indian Tribe of Indian Woods, Bertie County, had requested that Governor Tryon appoint 3 trustees to arrange for the sale of their land to pay the tribe’s debts and finance their journey to New York to join the Six Nation.

Lynella, that is vrey good research — thanks for finding it. Someone recently was looking for the George surname — if I could remember who . . . so it is confirmed surname of Catawba and Tuscarora. That’s interesting.

My grandmother Daisy Cannon, maiden name is George. I have been told that this name is Catawba (NC/SC) didn’t someone post a thread on the thousand mile walk of them and Saponi/ possibly Cherokee and making communities here and there and some of them tri-racial (like where I live in Bracey, VA)???

😮 Ah shucks, twerent nuttin’. Vance is getting me interested in it though, he’s so good!
I did space out checking up on the stuff Felicia was talking about. So thank you Tahcaska, I’ll do some more on this, this weekend too. That is, providing this darn computer keeps working. I think it has a gremlin. Every time I get near it and I’m upset about Garrett the darn thing flips out, has a spaz attack and threatens to die on me.
