At the Indiana Historical Bureau, in Finding Our Way Home: The Great Lakes Woodland People, they have Grants and Treaties in Indiana, 1783-1840. There is a map with treaty and grant lines on it and each one is numbered. That treaty line you mentioned in the Corn/Allen Post, Kerry, is obviously one of those near the bottom of the map. These would include numbers 1,2,3,4,5,6 and 7. I don’t have my other Indiana maps in front of me so I don’t have any land marks to compare these to. There are 17 treaty/grant lines in all. I’ll briefly list treaties 1 through 7 here and you guys can check out the map on the site and read the full info there. Let me know which treaty lines are the correct ones for that line near the Blackfoot Cemetery.
1. Clark’s Grant, 1783 given by Virginia to the soldiers who fought in the Illinois campaignwith George Rogers Clark.
2. Treaty with the Wyandot, Delaware, Shawnee, Ottawa, Chippewa, Potawatomi, Miami, Eel River, Wea, Kickapoo, Piankashaw, and Kaskaskia Indians signed August 3, 1795 at Greenville, Ohio.

3. Treaty with the Delaware, Shawnee, Potawatomi, Miami, Eel River, Wea, Kickapoo, Piankashaw, and Kaskaskia Indians signed June 7, 1803 at Fort Wayne.
4. Treaties with the Delaware and the Piankashaw Indians signed August 18 and 27, 1804 at Vincennes.
5. Treaty with the Delaware, Potawatomi, Miami, Eel River, and Wea Indians signed August 21, 1805 at Vincennes.
6. Treaty with the Delaware, Potawatomi, Miami, and Eeel River Indians signed September 30, 1809 at Fort Wayne.
7. Supplementary treaty with the Miami, Eel River, Delaware, and Potawatomi Indians signed September 30, 1809 at Fort Wayne.
Ah, what the heck, I’ll go ahead and list the rest, but you’ll still have to click the link to see the map. 😉
8. Treaty with the Wyandot, Seneca, Delaware, Shawnee, Potawatomi, Ottawa, and Chippewa Indians signed September 29, 1817 at the Rapids of the Maumee River in Ohio.
9. Treaties with the Potawatomi, Wea, Delaware, and Miami Indians signed October 2-6, 1818 at St. Mary’s, Ohio.
10. Treaty with the Ottawa, Chippewa, and Potawatomi Indians signed August 29, 1821 at Chicago.
11. Treaties with the Potawatomi, and Miami Indians signed October 16 and 23, 1826 on the Wabash River near the Mouth of the Mississinewa River.
12. Treaty with the Potawatomi Indians signed October 16, 1826 on the Wabash River near the Mouth of the Mississinewa River.
13. Treaty with the Potawatomi Indians signed September 20, 1828 at Carey’s Mission, Michigan.

That was an extremely interesting link. It took me ultimately to this one : http://www.statelib.lib.in.us/www/ihb/markers/6120041at.html . Now what is interesting here is that my Green family in Ohio intermarry with a family called Dague in Licking County, Ohio. Now tell me that these two names are not connected, Dagnenet and Dague, especially since I know that my Greens were mixed. Very interesting.

Cool Website Lynella!:D I’m setting in my hotel room and comparing maps. And tracing them off my computor screen – So I will have to become more precise later. But it appears to me that the treaty line in question. (The one that runs directly behind the “Blackfoot Church and Cemetery property”) Is the bottom line of Treaty area Number 3. (Or the Top of Number 4) But logic says that since treaty 3 was established before 4. Then the cemetery property is within the boundaries of treaty number 3.

Oh good:D ! I’m so glad I found something for you to get some good info. out of. I’ve been working on pulling information together for you about all the tribes and there sub-tribes, locations dates and languages. So I can put it in a notebook for you. Of coarse it’s gonna’ be a while, but I’m learning a lot as I go and coming across stuff like this. Love & Light, & sorry they’re working you to death, Lyn.
