Some of the older maps from 1750-1789 or so have many Indian names for rivers and regions that may have changed names since. It might give some clues as to the origin of some people…
Thanks, you’re right. We have evidence of the Tutelo along the Big Sandy in KY. An old map shows it as the “Toterro River.” It a destination along the route of the Norfolks and Southern RR, which follows the old Indian path our people used travelling westward from the Piedmont.
