Native American genealogy research from the Piedmont of NC & VA
I am trying to find the mystery wife of John Moore, father to my Feriby/Pheribee Moore who married Charles King. He was born in 1737 in Bertie Co. and I believe is the son of John Moore Sr. and Tabitha Pace of Bertie Co. N.C. and is of the Indian trading families of Pace and Poythress. In fact her mother was a poythress. John Sr.’s father I believe was Richard who married Elizabeth Benton, sister to Epaphorditus Benton who lived next to and/or on the Chowanoke reservation, or it was his father or uncle that was associated with the Chowanoke. At this point everything is pretty confusing, but I am interested in any help in trying to iron it out.
