This may be of interest. Lots of history. It talks about the barracks of Bethlehem, PA.

A line from a page of the info:
“The Pennsylvania government tried to transfer the refugees to New York or New Jersey, but the Moravian Indians were rejected by both governments and were returned to Philadelphia where they remained confined in barracks until 1765.(6)”
One reason I find this interesting is that Edward Uptegroves has “Pennsylvania Barracks” listed as his birthplace (Revolutionary Soldiers of VA, Vol I). Edward was the father of Hannah, who married Elisha Collins (of Patrick CO, VA). Edward’s family (earlier spelled Op Den Graeff) are said to have started Germantown.
According to the following tree, Edward and his wife (Sarah Lewis) ended up in Rowan County, NC, where they both died.

Just pondering, and wondering if there might have been more than one “Pennsylvania Barracks”?? If not, this fella would have grown up with the Moravian Indians.
