Hello all,
I just finished my second set of test with The National geographic Genographic project. The results showed that through my Maternal side show strong traces of Native ancestry. Which I was trying to confirm with my family research. It was determined that through my maternal side all the way back I inherited haplo type A. Which is inclusive of Asian and Native American populations. The two groups are split into a1 and a2. I belong to the later which were early inhabitants of America and thier current decendents. I had also taken a earlier test that showed African, European and Asian/Native ancestry.
I am a member of National Geographic. This is a worldwide project and I will share my results with others. It’s just as I confirmed. That we are decendants of those Bennetts creek indians from Gates county. They mixed with other blacks who were free and decendant of slaves. Anyone wishing to be tested or become part of the project. May contact me or go to the Genographic project on National geographic.

October 18, 2005 at 3:46 am #16979Dear Erica,
Thanks for the reply. You can get this test done for only $99 dollars Through this project. The test is very accurate and uses the latest technology. It is headed by Geneticist and Anthropologist Dr. Spence Wells. He a leading athority on Human migrations and Genetics. You do not have to be a member of National Geographic such as myself. The test otherwise would be very costly.
You recieve a code number for privacy all the solutions and materials to preserve you DNA swab and a mailer. You also get a full length video CR-rom of how the project works and Dr. Wells documenting human migration and all about the project. It is Awsome!!! The test took about 8 weeks to complete and you can follow your results step by step online with your code. When it is all done you get a personalizes chart with all of your info and a video with Doctor wells explaining your personal results and ancestral migration wich is traced through all of your maternal ancestors from your mothers side. You can then print out a certificate as proof or your testing and charts of your Ancestors migrations and haplotype. You can then choose to share your results and find others who match your haplotypes and download it into the main project page. I found matches with people of Indian decent from Quatemala, Southeastern Tribal members, Mexican Indians, and and exact match in Puerto rico!!!
There were also Native Americans from the cherokee and choctaw nation. Please go to:

If there are anymore questions feel free to ask.

October 18, 2005 at 3:46 am #16984Hi,
I was wondering if this test also will offer me the opportunity to test my father’s side of his family and if so, at what cost? Also, what am I able to do once I receive documentation of my Native American Ancestry? Will tribal nations (specific ones that I am told I descend from) accept this certification?
