Well, since we are discussing frybread in another string, I thought I’d just put a subject up for our fav NA recipes.
My grandmother used to make something my father called ‘Blood Pudding’. But I never got the recipe. Daddy didn’t have it and my Gma died when I was in high school and at that time I wasn’t interested in cooking.
Has anyone else heard of ‘blood pudding’ ? And if so, do you have the recipe? I’m just curious what it is. Daddy said it was made from real animal blood..most likely beef. I probably ate it when I was a kid at Gma’s house, but if I did, I don’t remember it.
How about you Tom? Did your family have this recipe?
What to y’all think about using this string for putting up our fav NA recipes if you have any. 🙂
Ok.. I just answering my own question. LOL I googled for blood pudding and it shows different recipes to make it. Also says that it was pretty common and that it was made with pig’s blood.
The recipes range from cooking it in the oven to making sausage out of it. It sounds like it wasn’t necessarily a NA recipe. Seems like it was in pretty common use at the early part of the last century.
Ok. but let’s go ahead and keep this string going if y’all want to .
LOL. I was googling for frybread (fry bread) it is spelled both ways on the google searches. Anyway, I was googling and found this delightful website. I loved this little story so I thought I’d pass it along to everyone 🙂
