Thanks Vance. Did you get any results back from your DNA test? I also learned some info on the Davenport’s if you are interested.

September 5, 2005 at 5:12 pm #16848Wow, I tried several times to get to this site on national geographic with no luck. Maybe the site is down right now.
TeachTeach, thanks for the info.

Try googling “national geographic DNA project.” That will get you there.
I may try this route on the female line for myself. (My known NDN line is not straight male-male or female-female. We already tried the male on that line with the result being English.) I have been suspicious of the Rhodes line. There were births in suspicious places at suspicious times with suspicious names.

I tried to go through google, but, the site still will not open. i’ll keep trying. thanks,
September 5, 2005 at 5:12 pm #16862Sorry, I did not try it. I only tried a google to see if it showed up in the results; I did not click on the links, because I had used the site just a few days earlier. It won’t open for me now either. I guess you keep trying until they get their site back up.

It gives maps of the migrations of haplotypes. I also discovered that if you already had the familytree DNA test done, as we have, you can add your results to the project for a minimal fee. You should find the link on the online family tree results if this research is something that you want to participate in.
