Religion and politics are futile topics. You ain’t gonna change anyone’s opinion and just guaranteed to raise somebody’s hackles. Wise call, Linda. I have always felt such topics should be actively discouraged.
May 21, 2008 at 12:49 pm #31617I agree Dreaminghawk! As a new member, I’d prefer leaving those topics alone. Thanks Linda for a great call!

I did read Linda’s response regarding politics and how this forum should stick with Siouan/Blackfoot/Saponi research and issues. Sorry that I ruffled some peoples’ feathers but I thought this thread was relevent to Indian Country Issues in general.
Out of respect for Linda and others, I will not post anymore political threads on this site.
Sorry.
May 21, 2008 at 12:49 pm #31629It was still a good post though, because I knew nothing of Obama getting adopted. Thanks for the update 🙂
May 21, 2008 at 12:49 pm #31630I learned alot because of your post. Some good, some informative, and some just down right interesting.;)
May 21, 2008 at 12:49 pm #31652I read that Hillary was part Native American from a Canadian tribe. I’m not sure which one though?

May 21, 2008 at 12:49 pm #31827Hello my friends…I have been away a while…work etc. Well I just wanted to put in my two cents on the Lakotas. Didn’t know how many of you are aware that the Eastern Siouan people are one and the same as the Lakota who are now out west. I read ….from a Lakota author that way before the Lakota migrated out west they were here in the Piedmont of NC. The tribes with the same ancestry are the Saponi, Waccama Siouan, Waccama, and I think the Tutelo and there may be others especially the ones at Fort Christanna. So in saying this I just want us to remember out Lakota brothers and sisters are a part of we Siouan decendants….Linda, I guess that explains my spiritual connection to the Buffalo and the Lakota culture…BIG SMILE!!!:D
