Native American genealogy research from the Piedmont of NC & VA
Found this on youtube. This is how our people gathered and danced deep in the woods. It touched my heart deeply. If the link doesn’t work just go to youtube and search the title of this thread.

Yep, that’s a stomp that’s done in Maxton, NC. Not sure what tribe originated it, as it wasn’t on the tape of Tutelo songs I have, but I’ve heard it done. If you ever get the chance to hear David Locklear perform these songs, go for it. He’s done a magnificent job of revitlizing the music and bringing it back. In the past ten years there was a concerted effort to bring these culture elements back to the community in Robeson county by volunteers from Six Nations, where these songs have been kept alive for the past two to three hundred years. The group of then teenagers must have young families of their own by now.
David’s with Kau-ta-noh Jr. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=68777310 They do some fine pow wow music. Very talented group.
