Native American genealogy research from the Piedmont of NC & VA
I am on a search to find my Grandmother. Her name is Opal. She has one glass eye and married Randolph Moss, had a baby boy, Daniel Arden Moss, in 1949 and adopted him out to Randolph’s niece. Opal traveled in a circus and was a musician. I have been told that she was full blooded Blackfoot. I think she was born in or adopted in Wisconsin. We think her name was Opal Phyllis Fetterman (not sure about spelling) before marrying Randolph. I thought maybe she had descended from this faction of Blackfoot rather than from the Blackfeet tribe in Montana. If anyone knows anything please email me. I have a rare muscle disease and need to know if I may have inherited it. This is about all the info I have on Opal right now. I’m trying to get my dad’s (her son) adoption papers opened up.
Good luck with that. If you come across any more clues, let us know, maybe we’ll be able to see something in it. I had family identified as Blackfoot in Vernon County, WI. Tom had Blackfoot identified people in Racine, WI for awhile a ways back. Hope that helps.
