Native American genealogy research from the Piedmont of NC & VA
Does anyone have any ties to the Pamunkey Miles family. I have a Daniel Miles of King William County, VA in 1683 and at Dellaware Town (West Point, VA). Daughter Sarah Miles married Daniel Burford and moved to Bute, N.C.
Tried to contact Chief Miles of the Pamunkey Tribe for genealogy and was told by historian at their museum that they are attempting to get Federal recognition and very busy right now.
Anybody know anyone from the Miles family or Pamunkey tribe that might be of assistance?
I’ll send a link to this page to someone I know.
Black Dutch,
I don’t know if this will help, I found this while looking for Virginia history.

Thats the museum I contacted. Maybe somebody has an e-mail address for Chief Miles.
My 1st cousin may be able to get in touch with him. We’re about 30 min. away from the Res. We have heavy Pamunkey on my dad’s side of the family. I’ll see what info she can give me.
