March 15, 2008 at 11:30 am #30157Aw, shucks! Thanks, guys! As we unloaded the donations today, I could not believe how much stuff we had along. I solicited donations at my school and just piled it in the house without paying attention. Actually seeing it here is amazing! We have 40 blankets made by middle school students who did a lock-in service project and bags and bags of personal items! The hubby bought 10 basketballs on the way out, as well as a shelf-full of clearance Shrek pillows to give to the kids.
And I brought out some terrific students. They are out here to make plans to make this an even bigger project next year. I did not even realize that this was their plan in coming. Great kids!
Tomorrow, we head to Wounded Knee.
Nice to see friends out here again.

Osiyo Techteach, This is just awesome. Gotta tell ya it is a great thing you, your husband, the students, etc are doing. Talk about big-hearted. Not many people would do this. Your reward will be great someday. Please keep us posted and hopefully you will post some pics? Blessings U-na-li-i (Friend)~^~Greydove:)
March 15, 2008 at 11:30 am #30159Went to Wounded Knee today. Freezing cold! Very like the day it happened.
Drove the students around Pine Ridge in the PM. They were very affected by the conditions.
Helped build beds later in the PM.
Off to renovate houses tomorrow.
